Vada Covey

Vada E. Covey, 90, of Decatur, IL, died 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Heritage Health in Mt. Zion, IL. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central IL, 210 W. McKinley, Decatur, IL 62526. Vada was born May 5, 1921, in Long Creek, IL, the daughter of James Henderson and Emma M. (Hayes) Cox. She married Doris M. Covey on September 18, 1939 in Wilcott, IN. He preceded her in death. Vada is survived by her children Emma Jean Welch of Decatur, IL, Ronald D. Covey and wife Ruth Ann of Decatur, IL, Deirdre M. Kornfeld and husband George of Grand Junction, CO; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 1 step grandchild; and sister Alta Jestis of Cowden, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Patrick Welch, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. The family would like to give special thanks to Heritage Health and Passages Hospice for the care and compassion they gave to our mother. "
