V. Wayne Finney

V. Wayne Finney, 82, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, March 22, 2024 at Young America Cemetery, Hume, IL with military honors. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Wayne's honor may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Wayne was born January 3, 1942 in Metcalf, IL, the son of Donald and Agatha Faye (Farris) Finney. He married Doris Funfsinn on April 24, 1965 in Aurora, IL. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2011. Wayne then married Connie Keelin and she survives. He proudly served our country in the US Army. Wayne worked at Caterpillar for 42 years, retiring as factory manager. He enjoyed woodworking, playing golf – especially at Hickory Point Golf Course and fishing at Clinton Lake.
Surviving are his son, Brian (Leslee) Finney of Decatur; daughter, Diane (Doug) Kroeker of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and grandchildren: Abigail, Grace, Taylor, and Peyton.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Elaine and Sheila; and brother, Donald.
