Troas Barger

Troas Barger, Jr. (Deputy Dog), 85, of Decatur, IL, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 1, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation from 4:00 pm until service time. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.Troas was born November 28, 1931, in Harrisburg, IL, son of Troas Barger, Sr. and Marjorie (Foster). He married Phyllis M. Secrest in 1954 in Owaneco, IL. She preceded him in death on October 2, 1986. He married Pamela Sue Logan December 18, 1987 in Decatur.Troas was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Korea. He worked for the railroad for 35 years, retiring in 1991. Troas especially enjoyed spending time with his family.Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Pamela of Decatur; children: Donna K. Barger, Debbie D. Barker, Richard D. Beck, Jr., Tammy L. Henderson and husband Adam, all of Decatur; grandchildren: Kenny R. Logan and wife Crystal, Donald R. Logan and wife April, Dawn R. Barger, Holly R. Robinson, Lauren D. Barker, Lottie L. North, and Dewey T. Henderson, all of Decatur; great-grandchildren: Madison Moreland, Isaiah Jackson, Gavin Logan and Dayton Miller; 13 siblings; special sister-in-law: Adelle Barger.Troas was preceded in death by his parents, son Donald, granddaughters Heather and Julie, six siblings, and two brothers-in-law.
