Tracey Lea (Thomas) Anderson, 44, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, at First United Methodist Church, Decatur. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, August 4, at the church. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements. The family requests casual attire. For family and friends who would like to support Cancer awareness, please wear pink; for Cancer survivors, please wear purple. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cancer Care Center. Tracey was born February 18, 1969, in Decatur, the daughter of Lee Thomas and Joyce (Conaway) Thomas. She married James Anderson on September 11, 1993, in Decatur. Tracey was a member of First United Methodist Church. She worked as a daycare teacher for 30 years, teaching most recently at Decatur Day Care Center, and previously at Little Peoples Prep School and Church of the Living God. Tracey enjoyed volleyball, and especially enjoyed attending her son's scouting events, her daughter's sporting events and family activities. Surviving are her husband of 19 years, James; son Andrew Anderson and daughter Jaclyn Anderson, all of Decatur. Also surviving are her mother Joyce of Decatur, IL; father Lee (Lana) of Prairie du Chien, WI; brother Tony (Bridgett) Thomas of Lincoln, IL; and many extended family members. Tracey was preceded in death by her grandparents and father-in-law James Anderson. The family wishes to thank the 4th floor nursing staff at St. Mary's Hospital for their loving care given to Tracey. "
