Tommy Lee "Tom" Kier, 60, of Cerro Gordo, IL, died Wednesday evening, March 7, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 10, 2012, at One Hope Wesleyan Church, 3900 E. Fulton Avenue, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 4 to 8 P.M., Friday, March 9, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek, IL. Memorials may be made to One Hope Wesleyan Church, 3900 E. Fulton Avenue, Decatur, IL 62521. Tom was born June 26, 1951 in Caney, KS, the son of Clem J. and Wilma (Lloyd) Kier. He married Deborah S. Markwell on September 25, 1970 in Decatur, IL. Tom was a 1969 graduate of Mt. Zion High School He worked for A.E. Staley for 25 years and then from 1997 until November 2010, he worked for G&D Integrated. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Deborah of Cerro Gordo, IL; children Pamela Renee (Brent) Daily of Cerro Gordo, IL, Troy Lee (Christina) Kier of Decatur, IL, Christopher Bradley (Jennifer Hassinger) Kier of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Kadelyn Michelle Daily, Peyton Edward Daily, Bradley Jay Kier, Callee Grace Kier, Tucker Lee Kier; mother Wilma of Decatur, IL; sisters Marilyn (Glen) Wright of Findlay, IL, Mary (John) Krohn of Bethany, IL; in-laws Orville & Darlene Markwell of Decatur, IL. He was preceded in death by his father. The family would like to thank Dr. Wade, Leanne and Staff at Cancer Care Specialist of Central IL, Dr. Moore and Staff at Cancer Care of St. Mary's Hospital, and St. John's Hospice, especially Lynn Berner, for all their care and compassion given to Tom during his journey. Tom will be missed by his wife and loving family, especially his grandchildren, and his many friends that he knew and loved. "
