Tina McCarty, 62, passed away on September 25th, 2024, from a long battle with ovarian cancer in the comfort of her home with her husband and children by her side. She was the beloved wife of Kevin McCarty. They shared 38 years together.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of Earl and Christine Taylor. She attended Riverview Gardens High School. She spent over 35 years in retail management working as the general manager for Kmart, Old Navy, and Nike. Most recently, she was employed by the Village of Cerro Gordo.

She will be remembered most for her one-of-a-kind laugh and her fierce love for her family. She had an uncanny strength to take on dire situations with tenacity and determination.

Tina is survived by her husband, Kevin McCarty, son Justin McCarty and his wife Nikki, daughter Carissa Bourey (McCarty) and husband Andy, son Eddie McCarty, her grandchildren Myla, Evelynn, Carlee, Cora, and Maddie, her mother in-law Sharon McCarty, her sister Connie (Brian) McClure, brother Mike Taylor, half-sister Bertha (Bill) Essay, half-brother James Gabbard, and half-brother Dan Gabbard.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother Earl and Christine Taylor, father in-law Bill McCarty, and half-sisters Linda Gabbard and Brenda (Tom) Hall.

The funeral service will be held in Cerro Gordo, IL at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, 111 Madison St on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 1:00pm, with visitation two hours prior, beginning at 11:00am. Burial services will be held immediately afterwards at the Cerro Gordo Cemetery. The family would like to personally thank Dr. Laurent Brard and his staff for the time and efforts given throughout her battle with ovarian cancer and the way they handled it with such care and support.
