Timothy Wortman

July 1, 1960 — February 2, 2025

Timothy A. Wortman Sr, 64, of Decatur, IL joined his Heavenly Family on Feb 2, 2025.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM on Friday, February 7, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran Church (2727 N. Union St, Decatur, IL, 62526). Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2025 and 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Friday, February 7, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Boiling Springs Cemetery in Decatur, IL. Memorials can be made to Victory Junction at victoryjunction.org. In lieu of flowers, please visit your local first responders with doughnuts or DQ dilly bars – as it was a favorite past time for Tim.

Tim was born July 1, 1960, the son of Edwin and Jean (Lyda) Wortman. He married his high school sweetheart, Rebecca Erwin on May 3, 1980, in Decatur IL.

He retired from Getz Fire Equipment as a service technician. Tim loved NASCAR, was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He adored his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Tim was an 11-year survivor of Glioblastoma. He always gave God the glory for the additional time with family and friends. Many blessings to Dr. Dold and Dr. Velasco for their knowledge and care to see Tim through his treatment and remission.

Tim is survived by his wife, Becky; sons, Timothy (Catie) Wortman Jr. of Clinton, IN, Kevin Wortman of Decatur; siblings Phyllis (John) Prell of Fort Smith, AR, Linda Metcalf of Denver, CO, Mike (Mary) Wortman of Mt Zion, IL, Dave (Debbie) Wortman of Johnson City, TN, Patty (fiancé Tony) Wiesehan of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Kathleen Limer, Cindy Betts, and brother Chuck Wortman Sr.
