Timothy Everett Deem, 65, of Decatur, IL, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015, at Symphony of Decatur, after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Deem family. Tim was born January 12, 1950 in Decatur, IL to Darrell and Dorothy (Minton) Deem. Tim served his country in the U.S. Army at Fort Lewis, Washington as a medic, and gave his life to the Lord during his serving. Tim married Andrea Gudell on August 15, 1975. He retired after 33 years at Firestone and 18 years at Walgreens. He was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God and was a big fan of Star Wars, NASCAR, and enjoyed reading. Tim leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Andrea; son Micah and fiancee' Kelly Niendick; parents Darrell and Dorothy Deem; brothers Darrell (Priscella) Deem, Todd Deem; sister Dorothy (Gary) Ruff; best friends Leroy and Susan Gober; several nieces and nephews; and two dogs Lucy and Desi. Tim was preceded in death by both grandparents. The family would like to give special thanks to the angels of the 2nd floor nursing staff at Symphony, DMH Hospice, and Cancer Care Specialist of Decatur, for their loving care given to Tim. "
