Timothy Benson

Timothy Dean Benson, 42, of Oakley, IL, passed away peacefully in his sleep at 9:28 a.m. Sunday, October 9, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL, with visitation 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, at the funeral home in Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery Cerro Gordo, IL. Tim was born in Decatur, IL, February 1, 1969, to Janet Perkins and Dean Benson. He was a dedicated husband to Stacey (Burns) Benson and loving father to his two boys JD, 8, and Cooper, 3. He is survived by his father Dean Benson and wife Becky of rural Oakley; mother Janet Perkins and husband Jerry of North Carolina. Tim was admired by his younger brother Marc Benson and wife Michelle and their daughter Amelia of Pleasanton, CA; his sister Kimmie Aitkens and her husband Keith and their daughter Grace, of Ashland, MO; his father and mother-in-law Jim and Mikki Burns of Clinton and his brother and sister-in-law Chad and Andréa Burns and their children Blaine and Audrey of Forsyth. Tim will be missed by his family that he cherished: Uncle Dean Jimison and wife Chris of Cerro Gordo and their children Ryan and Tracey; Aunt Pat Gross and husband Mike of Cerro Gordo and their daughter Kelley; Aunt Donna Fleener and husband Steve of La Place and their children Jenny and Scottie; Aunt Judy McGarrigle of Providence, RI and her children Toni, Angela, Billy, Joey and Mary; Uncle Harold Martin of Cerro Gordo and his children JoEllen and Danney. Tim will be received in Heaven by his loving grandparents Ivan and Jean Benson and Wally and Barbara Jimison and his Aunt Norma Martin and his cousins Mikie Gross and Chad McGarrigle. Tim graduated from Cerro Gordo High School in 1987 and Illinois State University in 1991. He was a dedicated employee for Sunbelt Rentals.
