Thomas A. Mullens, 80, of Warrensburg, IL, died 2:42 A.M., Friday, March 30, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Peoples Church of God, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 P.M., Monday, April 2, at the church. Burial will be 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 4, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Donor's Choice. Thomas was born July 6, 1931 in Webster, IN, the son of Carl and Mina (Warmouth) Mullens. He was a member of Peoples Church of God, Decatur, IL. Thomas previously served as a Nazarene minister and most recently was an Administrator for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs for 27 years, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed gardening, building projects, learning new things, attending Bible Study, and was an avid joke teller. Thomas was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in Korea and was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Surviving are his son Thomas Mullens, Jr. of Thousand Oaks, CA, son Timothy (Linda) Mullens of Grants Pass, OR, daughter Shareen (Robert) Huber of Danville, IL, son Daniel (Kim) Mullens of St. Louis, MO; 17 grandchildren and 15+ great grandchildren; sister Dellia Joann VanScyoc of PA.
