Thomas (Tom) Henry Karlowski, 80, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 12:01 am on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Decatur Memorial Hospital surrounded by his three daughters. Services to celebrate Tom's life will include a visitation on Friday (May 17, 2013) which will be held from 10:00 a.m until 12:00 noon with services immediately following at 12:00 noon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Decatur. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home are handling the arrangements. Tom was born on September 23, 1932 in Decatur, IL, the son of Henry and Dorothy (Barnett) Karlowski. He married Marilyn Jones on February 10, 1952. She preceded him in death after sharing fifty-eight years together. Tom was raised in Decatur and graduated from Decatur High School in 1950. Tom was employed by HSI Systems, formerly known as Huss & Schlieper, as a draftsman. He retired in 1998 after forty-eight years of service. Tom was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Decatur, IL. Tom was reunited in Heaven with his parents, his wife Marilyn, his sister Dolores Wilkerson, and infant grandson Robert Beasley. He leaves behind his daughters: Marcia Greenwell and husband Michael of Mt. Zion, Deborah Beasley and husband Christopher of Littleton, Colorado and Susan Krows and husband Kevin of Forsyth; grandchildren: Jennifer (Eric) Fincham, Alex, Allie and Abbie Krows, Ryan and Charlie Beasley; great-granddaughter Bryleigh Fincham; step grandson Rick (Terri) Greenwell; sister Esther Miller of Decatur; sister-in-law Nancy Grandys-Jones of Littleton, Colorado; nephews: Larry (Sandy) Miller, Steve Miller, Richard (Trina) Wilkerson; niece Gail Wilkerson, and many special friends. Tom was fond of fishing, watching St. Louis Cardinal's baseball and sharing a good story or joke. Tom was a loving husband and a wonderful father to his three daughters of whom he was extremely proud. The family would like to thank the incredible team that cared for him while he was a resident of the 6th floor at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Tom enjoyed the compassion and friendship the entire team provided to him. In addition, the family would also like to thank Pastor Wray Offermann and the congregation of St. Paul's Lutheran Church for their love, prayers and support.
