Thomas E. Janus, 66, of Decatur, IL, passed away 1:05 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2015, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 3 to 5 p.m. prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Teen Challenge. Thomas was born August 5, 1948 in Detroit, MI, the son of Edwin A. and Julia T. (Stachura) Januszewski. He was employed by Black and Company for 37 years, 23 of which he was the manager of Decatur Paint & Varnish. He loved his work and his customers. He was an accomplished woodworker. His kind heart and gentle soul will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his children Carrie Brennan and husband Jamie of Naperville, IL, Tyler Janus and wife Cyndi of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Logan Brennan and Finnegan Brennan, both of Naperville, IL; sister Patricia Bennie and husband Fredrick; and brother William Vinskowski, all of Michigan; honorary mother Eileen Iverson of Decatur, IL; former spouse Candy Loyd of Monticello, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather Joseph Vinskowski.
