Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Decatur Memorial Hospital Cardiology Dept.Thomas was born September 17, 1921, in Renwick, Iowa, the son of Frank and Sylvia (Mitchell) Highland. He married Shirley M. McCoy on January 12, 1941 in Decatur, IL. Thomas was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran, serving in WWII. He worked at Eisners as a meat cutter for 26 years and then became a property owner of a resort in the Lake of Ozarks. Thomas enjoyed and loved his family very much. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley of Decatur, IL; children Rick Highland and wife Barb of Holts Summit, MO, Kathy Becker and husband Mark of Athens, IL, Deena Kater and husband Andy of Decatur, IL; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com.
