Thomas Hargis

Thomas E. Hargis, 88, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to Gospel of the Kingdom Campground, Highway 44, Shepherdsville, KY 40165. Thomas was born September 6, 1930, in Decatur, IL, the son of Jesse and Julia (McLain) Hargis. He married Mickey Leona Hugo on September 18, 1954 in Decatur, IL. Thomas was a member of the Body of Christ and Gospel Chapel of Decatur. He worked as a custodian for the school district, retiring in 1990. Thomas also worked in Security for Miles Chevrolet for seven years. He loved reading his Bible. Thomas was a U.S. Navy and U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mickey of Decatur; children Thomas F. (Pam) Hargis of Fairbury, IL, Susie Tulak of Decatur, Rebecca (Jack) Jimison of Decatur, Edward (Jackie) Hargis of Decatur; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jess Hargis.
