Thomas Max Evans, 60, of Decatur, IL, died 5:05 P.M., Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Memorial services will be at a later date. B, Decatur, IL 62526.Max was born September 14, 1948, in Decatur, IL, the son of Charles Max and Virginia (Folrath) Evans. He married Mary Claire Bates on September 2, 1972 in Decatur, IL. Max worked as a Union Laborer, retiring after 30 years, and most recently worked part time for LNR Enterprises. He was an avid golfer and music connoisseur. Max was a U.S. Army Reserve Veteran, member of South Side Country Club, member of Local Union #159, member of Millikin Alumni and Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, and a recent resident of the Gardens.He is survived by his wife Mary Claire (Bates) Evans of Decatur, IL; daughters Emily Miller and husband Nick of Bloomington, IL, Erin Moyer and husband Danny of Elwin, IL; grandson Austin Miller of Bloomington, IL; sister Martha Dexheimer and husband Karl of OFallon, IL; nieces and nephews Ellen Mather and husband Geoff of Albuquerque, NM, Leslie Gleason and husband Andy of CO, Karl Dexheimer and wife Heather of Edina, MN, Madrid Kaufmann of Chicago, IL, Deneb Bates of NY; brother-in-law Bob Bates and wife Jenny of NC.He was preceded in death by his parents.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com.
