Thomas B. Ake, Jr., 85, of Decatur, IL passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be held Friday, June 7, 2013 from 5-7:00 pm at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Masonic services will follow at 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital. Thomas was born on September 19, 1927 the son of Thomas B. and Mary Agnes (Connor) Ake in Egg Harbor, NJ. He married Edna Fuls in Egg Harbor, NJ on Aug. 22, 1948. Thomas was a member of the Masonic Lodge #13 AF & AM in Baltimore, MD, the Boumai Shrine Temple in Baltimore, MD, the Decatur Shrine Club and the V.F.W. He was employed by Morgan Sash and Door Company for 45 years. Thomas was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Edna of Decatur, IL; children Thomas B. Ake, III and wife Barbara of Gambrills, MD, Timothy Nelson Ake and wife Debbie of Montvale, VA, Mary Elizabeth Smoak and husband Doug of West Columbia, SC, Terence Richard Ake and wife Kathy of Huntersville, NC, Torence Evans Ake and wife Manula of Hammond, IN; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brother John Nelson Ake and wife Joan of Hammonton, NJ; sister Katherine Johnson of Ocean City, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents. "
