Private graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday (12-20-2010) at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mt. Zion, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral home are handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to: American Legion Castle Williams Post # 105.Thelma was born on September 23, 1924 in Montcoal, West Virginia, the daughter of Elmer Lowe and Ever (VanLandingham) Lowe. She married Edgar Cassell, Jr. on January 6, 1951 in Decatur, IL. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in January.Thelma retired from General Electric. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, and especially spending time with her family.She is survived by her three children: Theirald Jack Mendenall of Decatur, IL., Brenda Kay Wilson and husband Gary of Galesburg, IL., and Bruce Kevin Cassell and wife Debbie of Decatur, IL.; grandchildren: Todd Mendenall and companion Kim of Tampa, Florida , Christina Ogan and husband Charles of Warrensville, IL., Michael Wilson and companion Michelle of Alexis, IL., Brian Cassell and wife Amy of Mt. Zion, IL., Blake Cassell of Decatur, IL., Katie Cassell of Decatur, IL.; great-grandchildren: Jimmy, Ethan and Cody Mendenall, John Ogan, Hailey Reth, Brianna and Alexis Cassell, and Landon Cassell, and special niece Lynn Sam Peters of Decatur, IL.Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law Sandy Mendenall, and four sisters.
