Terry Marvin

Terry Lynn Marvin, 72, of Cerro Gordo, passed away May 1, 2021 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be 12:00 PM, Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 10:00 - 12:00, Saturday, at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery with Military Rites by the US Army and Cerro Gordo American Legion Post. Memorials in Terry’s honor may be made to Cerro Gordo American Legion Post 117. Terry was born December 22, 1948 in Cerro Gordo, the son of Roy Richard “Buster” and Eleanor Ruth (O’Field) Marvin. He proudly served our country in the US Army during Vietnam. Terry worked for A.E. Staley for 24 years. He later worked driving a truck and farming. Terry was very active and enjoyed Country Dancing and won 3rd in the Nation in 1988. He was also a member of the Cerro Gordo Volunteer Fire Department. Terry was very patriotic and a proud member of Cerro Gordo American Legion Post 117 and also served on the Honor Guard. He is survived by his children: Greg (Brandy) Marvin, Tim Marvin, Melissa (Jared) Priddy, all of Thomasville, NC, Jacob Marvin of Taylorville, and Robert Marvin of Cerro Gordo; grandchildren: Tyson, Katie, Kyleigh, Isaac, Lauren, and Natalie; brother, Richard “Dick” (Nancy) Marvin of Cerro Gordo; niece, Teresa (Tim) Russell; nephew, Mark (Carrie) Marvin; and great nieces and nephews, Colton, Keegan, Noah, and Cameron. Terry was preceded in death by his parents.
