Terry Burke

Terry L. Burke, 78, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 5:58 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 20, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, January 19, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois. Terry was born October 16, 1935, in Decatur, the son of Clifford and Irene (Barding) Burke. He married Jacqueline Hayes on July 8, 1955, in Decatur. Terry was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran. He worked at A.W. Cash Valve, retiring after 37 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 105 and WBCCI. Terry was a former trustee for Hickory Point Fire Dept. He was a avid Cubs fan and fisherman. Terry is survived by his wife of 58 years Jacqueline of Shelbyville; children: Kevin Burke and wife Debra of Lakewood, IL; Susan Evans and husband Greg of Decatur, IL and Dennis Burke and wife Patricia of Hoffman Estates, IL. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Terry was preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara Hackl. "
