Tab Stortzum

Tab Edward Stortzum, 55, of Sullivan, IL, passed away 9:05 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2014, at his residence. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Sunnyside Road Church of Christ, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL will be assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to DMH Hospice or Cancer Care Specialists of Central IL. Tab was born January 27, 1959, in Decatur, IL, the son of Robert Louis, Sr. and Virginia (Guffey) Stortzum. He married Dedre Renee Dennon on August 2, 1986 in Decatur, IL. Tab was a member of Sunnyside Road Church of Christ. He worked for D. Binder Mechanical in Decatur, IL. Tab was a member of Laborers Local #159 and loved golfing, the Chicago Cubs, and especially spending time with family. He is survived by his wife Dedre; sons Zachery Edward and Dennon William Stortzum, all of Sullivan, IL; siblings Robert L. Stortzum, Jr. and wife Vicky of Sullivan, Max Stortzum of Decatur, Wendy Clem and husband Gary of Sullivan, Richard H. Stortzum of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews that were special to him. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Benjamin Esparaz, Dr. Eloy and DMH Hospice nurses for their care and compassion given to Tab. "
