T. Faye Hamman, age 99, of Decatur, IL, passed away Friday, June 29, 2013, at Relais Bonne Eau Hospice Home of Southern Illinois, Edwardsville, IL.. Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday (07-02-2013) in the Cerro Gordo Cemetery under the direction of Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Cerro Gordo, IL. Memorials may be made to the Macon County Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society. Faye was born January 20, 1914 in Chesterfield, IL, to the late Arnold P. and Myrtle Richardson Tendick. After graduating from Greenfield, Illinois High School, she attended Monmouth College and graduated from the University of Illinois with an Education degree. While in college, she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Faye retired from teaching after 16 years at Woodrow Wilson Jr. High School. She also taught at West Fairview in Macoupin County, Medora Elementary and Cerro Gordo High School. Faye married Francis Wade Hamman on Christmas day in 1940. He passed away on Christmas Eve in 1986. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Martha Hamand of Charleston, Illinois. Her survivors include children Pamela (Mike) Fisher, Patricia (Walter) Hann, Douglas (Jan Mueller) Hamman; grandchildren Suzanne Rauscher, Steven Rauscher, Brian Fisher (Susan), Greg Hamman and Kelly Hamman; and great grandson Lucas.
