Susan B. “Sue” (Haynes) Clark, 68, passed from this life at home in the early hours of March 20, 2021. She was the younger daughter of Robert E. and Dorothy J. (Woolington) Haynes; born in Decatur and a lifelong resident. Sue was a 1970 Eisenhower HS graduate and went on to graduate from Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Washington University, St. Louis. Most recently, after a long career as an X-Ray Technician, she was an adjunct instructor for the radiography program at Richland Community College since 2002 & was Owner Operator of Cake Lady Supply. Sue married Mark Janes in 1971 and they had three children. In 1988, she married Bill Clark. She and Bill, her three children, and his two children, all lived together in Decatur. Sue was devoted to her family and extended her welcome to the many branches of the family tree. She was a loving mom and “Gammy” to 13 grandchildren, directly involved in their daily lives and activities. She enhanced the young lives of her children as a dance and tumbling instructor, and loved to dance herself. She never missed an opportunity to let her family know how proud she was of them all. As a businesswoman, she first began Creative Confections in the 1970s to bake wedding and specialty cakes, which was later continued by daughter Marci. She also opened Cake Lady Supply retail store in 2003 to supply the Central Illinois community of bakers. She was passionate about being a consultant to and providing a local shopping outlet for the next generation of cake bakers. Sue cared deeply for all of her students at Richland Community College and was dedicated to helping them be successful.
