Susan Mary Berner, 82, of Decatur, IL, passed away on April 23, 2024.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur, IL. Memorials in Sue’s honor may be made to The Humane Society of Decatur.

Sue was born on February 6, 1942 in Decatur, IL to Wilbur Ashcraft and Mary (Kirk) Ashcraft. Sue was a secretary for many years at Mueller Co. and retired from Millikin University.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryll (Shannon) Henry; grandchildren: Corey Wicker (Lisa) and Chelsey Bardfield (Justin); great-grandchildren: Aubrey Bardfield, Brody Bardfield, and Jonas Pellum; along with her 3 brothers-in-law: Bud Berner (Gail), Dave Berner (Dara), and Donnie Berner (Susan).

Sue had a passion for traveling. Her and her beloved husband, Ben Berner, traveled together to all 50 states and 22 countries, including Europe and Japan. She cherished her family trips to Hawaii. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family. She will be truly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ben; and her son, Michael John Creamer.
