Stuart Shepherd

Stuart is grandfather to twenty-five grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. (Max Stuart Burton) will be arriving soon and is the twenty-first great grandchild. After serving in the Navy during the Korean War Stuart came home to educate himself. He pursued his education through a doctorate from Harvard University. His main focus was business and Community Education. On August 12, 1967, in California, he married Dea Kent. He was one Of the first Community Education Directors in California and retired as Dean Of Business Education from Richland Community College, in Decatur, Illinois. His early parting was a direct result of a mugging on his own back porch in Decatur, IL; 25 March 2009. Services honoring his character, life time of serving people, and kind spirit will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints on Lourdes Ave. Decatur, IL. All who knew and loved Stuart are invited to join us at 3 p.m. on Saturday June 27, 2009. There will be no viewing. Internment will take place in his native state , where he was born; 20 July 1932 in El Cerritto, California.
