Steven Dale Munsell- age 63 - birth date 12/2/1950, of Cerro Gordo, IL, went home to be with Jesus at 3:07 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to: Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter and Foundation. Steven was born in Fairbury, IL. He leaves behind to cherish his wife and best friend of 25 years: Jessica Lynne (Powell) Munsell; mother: Mardell Munsell; brother: Ed and wife Patty (Huber) Munsell; brothers-in-law: Alfred D. Powell Jr and wife Julie (Ramsey) Powell; Bruce Powell and wife Donna (Pygott) Powell; Mark Powell and wife Monica (Lewis) Powell; and many nieces and nephews. Steven was an avid animal lover and helped many strays. He loved the Native American way of life. He shared a special bond with his sister-in-law Monica Powell who had the same birthday. One of Steven's most cherished moments was when he gave his heart to Jesus and was baptized on Lake Shelbyville July 4th several years ago. Steven was preceded in death by his father Edwell Munsell, grandmother Altha Stamm, both grandfathers, and his father-in-law Alfred D. Powell Sr. "
