Steven Beard

Steven Robert "Red" Beard, 69, of Decatur, IL, died 6:43 P.M., Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at his residence. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Steven was born February 8, 1943 in Decatur, IL, the son of Robert Harris and Mary Elizabeth (Walker) Beard. He worked as a roofer for many years and spent many hours taking care of his mother. Steven was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He is survived by his sister Janet (Wayne A.) Day, brothers Terry (KayAnn) Dickson and Rodney (Karen) Beard, all of Decatur, IL; many nieces and nephews; and life long friends Alvin Watts and Gary Girard. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Joyce and Shirley, and niece Jamie Lynn Dickson. "
