Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at Moundford Free Methodist Church, Decatur. Burial will be in Macon Cemetery, Macon, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family with the arrangements.Memorials may be made to Chastidy (Renee) Askew in care of Staley Credit Union.Steven was born on June 22, 1964, in Decatur, IL, the son of Elvie Vincent Jack and Greta Louise (Suuva) Askew. He married Chastidy Renee Clark on June 3, 2000, in Macon, IL.Steven was a U.S. Army veteran. He attended Moundford Free Methodist Church. Steven was a self employed carpenter and served on the Latham Fire Dept. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He also loved to play pool and enjoyed NASCAR.Surviving are his wife Renee; six children Greta (Ben) Hulse of Clinton, OK, Amanda Askew of Decatur, IL, Joshua (Amanda) Askew of Bullhead City, AZ, Nicklaus Askew of Decatur, IL, Lucas Askew and Jacob Askew both of Blue Mound, IL; five grandchildren Audriana Johnson of Decatur, IL, Summer Askew and Savannah Askew both of Clinton, OK, Connor Askew of Decatur, IL, Jasmine Askew of Bullhead City, AZ; two sisters Lori (Kurt) Stimson and Lisa (Gary) Taylor all of Decatur, IL; mother and father-in-law Alan and Geneva Clark of Macon, IL; and special friends Shaivelle Johnson, Cristine Cunduff, Alicia Cope and family, Dave and Marilyn Durbin.Steven was preceded in death by his parents.The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Gregory, Dr. Dawood, Pastor Gerry Coates, Pastor Roy Abbott, St. Marys I.C.U. and to the Blue Mound Rescue.
