Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Croninger Cemetery, Cisco, IL. Memorials may be made to The Stephen Dale Murphy Fund.Stephen was born September 22, 1971, in Decatur, IL, the son of George Norman and Linda Diane (Thompson) Murphy. He married Amy Lynn Price on October 6, 2001, in Marysville, KS. Stephen enjoyed being a chef at several places including the Crown Plaza in Springfield, IL, Holiday Inn in Orlando, FL, Celebration Hotel in Kissimmee, FL and most recently at the Renaissance Suites Hotel in St. Louis, MO.He is survived by his wife Amy of Fairview Heights, IL; father George Murphy and companion Mary Ostertag of Fairview Heights, IL; mother Linda Williams and husband Mike of Decatur, IL; sister Holly Neumann and husband Tony of Iola, WI; brother Timothy Murphy and wife Rachelle of OFallon, IL; maternal grandparents Ann and Dale Thompson of Decatur, IL; father-in-law and mother-in-law Larry and Susan Price of Marysville, KS; sister-in-law Jennifer Ray and husband Jerry of Scottsdale, AZ; grandparents-in-law Lee and Catherine Price of Marysville, KS; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents.
