Stanley D. Sterling, 74, of Hammond, passed away December 27, 2022.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Stanley was born June 9, 1948 in Mesa, AZ, the son of Sydney and Evelyn (Letellier) Sterling. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Stanley married Katherine Jean Barnes on December 24, 1969, in Mesa, AZ. He worked as a buyer for home improvement stores, including Sears, Angel’s and many others in Arizona and California. Stanley was active with the Sea Scouts as an Engineer and AMR Chairman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and building models. Stanley was a fan of football and a life member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Katherine; sons: Scott Benjamin Sterling and partner, Elizabeth Oakes of San Leandro, CA; and Sean Michael Sterling and wife, Sara, of La Place; grandchildren: Spencer, Sondra, Samantha, Sabrina, and Scott Brigham.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stuart Sterling.
