CUSTOM DEATH NOTICE Robert G. “Smitty”, “RG”, Smith, 86, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Robert was born April 21, 1932 in Decatur, IL, the son of Charles Cecil and Allie Mae (Deck) Smith. He married Charlotte Irene Smart on January 12, 1967 in Decatur, IL. Robert worked for many years at the Sanitary District. He loved playing pool, gardening, canning foods, quilting, crocheting, camping, and especially loved spending time with his family. Robert was a member of the American Pool Players Association and Coats for Kids thru Dove. He is survived by his children Kathy (Alan) Kuntz of Mt. Vernon, IA, June (Brian) Milby of Campbellsville, KY, Erma (Jim) Jones of Herrick, IL, Cheryl (Ed) Beliel of Wayland, IA, Bobbie Atwood of Decatur, Charlie (Sara) Smith, Sr.; stepson, Herbert Stubbs (Debbie) of Decatur; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, one stepson; one granddaughter, one grandson, one sister, one brother, and one great grandson.
