Sidney Sites

Sidney D. Sites, 65, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Decatur Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 19 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 18 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Cerro Gordo American Legion Post #117. Casual attire is preferred. Memorials in Sidney’s honor may be given to Decatur Memorial Hospital Foundation. Sidney was born August 16, 1953 in Monticello, the son of Kenneth and Jeanette (Heitz) Sites. He proudly served his country as a US Marine. He worked for 16 years as a maintenance supervisor for the Illinois Department of Transportation before retiring. Sidney was an avid APA pool player and a member of Cerro Gordo American Legion Post #117. He is survived by his son, Shane D. Sites of Decatur; daughter, Amanda R. Sites (Tommy Landers) of Cerro Gordo; grandchildren, Tristan Sites of Lincoln, Cerina Sites of Peoria, and Devyn Sheets of Cerro Gordo; siblings, Vicki Binkley of Decatur, Pamela Volk (Harry) of Peoria, Timothy Sites (Susan) of Warner Robbins, GA, and Tammy Wright (John) of Decatur and many nieces, nephews and loyal friends. Sidney was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Denise Fitzpatrick. He was grateful for the care provided by the staff and physicians at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
