Sidney Jackson

Sidney Gene “Sid” Jackson, 68, of Kenney, passed away August 19, 2020 at John Warner Hospital in Clinton. A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. CDC guidelines and social distancing will be followed and masks are required. Sid was born July 31, 1952 in Clinton, the son of Robert L. and Mary (Anderson) Jackson. He married Kathy Joann Winebrinner June 12, 1971 in Clinton. She preceded him in death on February 24, 2013. He then married Linda James on December12, 2015. Sid worked as a foreman at Revere in Clinton, Sodexho at Millikin University, and was a manager at many local restaurants, including Perkins and Red Lobster in Decatur. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, and coached baseball and softball for Maroa Youth League and enjoyed gathering with his Clinton classmates. Sid thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Jennifer (Bryan) Mose of Decatur; Eric (Kristen) Jackson of Kansas City, KS; grandchildren, Tyler (Andi) Jackson, Taylor (Shelby) Jackson, Ashley (Patrick) Moomey, Abbey Jackson, Jared Gifford and Ryan Gifford (Tara Grider); and 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda, Judy, Cathie, Sharon, Rick, Ginny and Rod; sisters-in-law, Vi and Linda; and many nieces and nephews. Sid was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Kathy JoAnn Jackson.
