Shirley Joan Ritchie of Decatur, IL passed away on January 9, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 12 at 10:00am with a visitation one hour prior at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors.Shirley was born on February 16, 1936 in Cerro Gordo, IL the daughter of James Leo and Alta Mae (Knapp) Ritchie. She worked as a bank teller at the Millikin Bank for 31 years. Shirley also worked part time for the Prairie State Bank. Her hobbies included singing in the choir at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Decatur, IL, and was also member of the Kiwanis.Shirley is survived by one sister; Sandy (husband, Larry) Sheets of Douglasville, GA; one niece, Jennifer (husband, Danny, Jr.) Bartram of Douglasville, GA; one nephew, Mike Ritchie of Cerro Gordo, IL; a grand-nephew, Danny Bartram and grand-niece Katherine Bartram both of Douglasville, GA; and two grand-nephews, Matthew and Greg Ritchie of the Champaign, IL area.Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Ritchie; and one sister, Mary Jean Sommer.
