Shirley Ramsey

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Casual attire requested. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Shirley was born December 24, 1930, the daughter of Lemuel and Lela (Liticher) Hamman. She married Gerald Ervin Ramsey in June, 1955. Shirley worked as an Elevator operator in the Citizens Building for many years while enjoying her family and many hobbies that she had come to love. She was an avid reader and book collector, who loved her TV time and her weekend outings to the many garage sales throughout the Decatur area.Shirley loved life, the people around her and was loved by many.She is survived by her husband Gerald Jerry and son Michael.She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Everet (Bud) Hamman.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Macon County Humane Society.The family would like to thank the Nursing and Pastoral staff at St. Marys Hospital for their care and compassion to Shirley.
