Shirley Morse

Shirley J. Morse, 71, of Oakley, IL, died Monday, February 4, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, IL, with visitation 11:45 A.M. - 1:45 P.M., Thursday, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Cerro Gordo, IL. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Homeward Bound. Shirley was born November 1, 1941 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of David N. and Dora B. (Booker) Peer. She married Harry L. Morse on August 21, 1959 in Decatur, IL. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and her pet dog Molly. She was an avid NASCAR fan, Fighting Illini Basketball fan, and loved to fish. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harry of Oakley, IL; children Clayton David Morse and wife Lori of Cartersville, GA, Dorene Weber and companion Gary Smith of Decatur, IL, Steve Morse and wife Connie of Decatur, IL, Chris Morse of Oakley, IL; grandchildren Emily Morse, Amanda Morse, Johnny Dhermy, Tammy Dhermy, Sammy Russell, Lindsay Chung, Clayton David Morse, Jr., Rebecca Nicole Chicosky, Justin N. Chicosky, Anthony Raffety; numerous great grandchildren; brothers Tom, Gene, and Don Peer; and sister Helen Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Peer, children Harry Morse, Jr. and Lesslie Morse.
