Shirley Henry-Stephens

Shirley Henry-Stephens, 93, of Mt. Zion, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at The Glenwood, Mt. Zion, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 14, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL with visitation beginning one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to the Macon County Historical Society. Mrs. Stephens was born July 7, 1919, in Daleview, Montana, daughter of Harry and Hazel (Hatfield) Cornick. She married Arthur K. Henry on August 15, 1941 in Decatur. He preceded her in death March 14, 1983. She then married John Stephens on June 8, 1984 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death in August 2002. Mrs. Stephens was a first grade teacher at Salem School in Mt. Zion, IL for 32 years. She was also a member of the Macon County Historical Society. Mrs. Stephens is survived by her children: Craig A. Henry and wife Judy of Waukesha, WI, Dane K. Henry and wife Sue of Decatur, and H. Douglas Henry of Kansas City, MO; step sons: Daniel Stephens and wife Sandy of Poway, CA and Mike Stephens and wife Peggy of Palm Harbor, FL; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and dear friend, Fred Henemeyer of Decatur, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, step daughter Jonnette Tyner, and sister, Iris. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at The Glenwood and Dr. Richard Fritz for all of their care and support. "
