Shirley Anne (Cripe) Bell, 88, of Decatur, IL, passed away Monday, August 12, 2019, at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 16, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to Macon County Animal Shelter or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Shirley was born April 13, 1931, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Walter J. “Jake” Cripe and Ester Mina (Wheeler). She was a legal secretary and worked the last 25 years for Vern Houchen, Attorney. Shirley was a 1948 graduate of Cerro Gordo High School. She was a den mother for Scouts, and was involved in school activities in Decatur and Cerro Gordo. She is survived by her children Debbie Sherwood and husband Scott of Decatur, John Bell of Decatur, Steve Bell of Oakley; grandchildren and great grandchildren Beau Rennix and wife Trish of Castle Rock, CO and their children Ashley, Taylor, Chase; Jacob “Jake” Bell and wife Amy of Erie, CO and their children Kyra and Melanie; Aaron Bell and wife Lindsey of Argenta and their children Aaron Jr. “A.J.”, Ava and Ari; and Andrew Bell of Decatur; nieces Kathy Jo Eads of Cerro Gordo, Pamela Jo Frazier of Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Richard Wheeler Cripe; daughter-in-law Beverly Bell; and her long time companion Maury Weishaar of Shelbyville. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Anthony McCormack and staff for their loving care given to Shirley. "
