Sheri L. Chambers, 77, of Decatur, IL, passed away March 1, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur, IL.Memorial services will be 5:00 p.m., Sunday March 6, 2016, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Inurnment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Bluffs, IL, at a later date.Sheri was born April 17, 1938, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Homer Dick and Alpha (James) Dick. She married William Chambers on October 9, 1960 in Hammond, IL.Sheri received her accounting degree from Ball State University and worked as an accountant with the First State Bank of Beardstown, IL. In her retirement, she enjoyed creating many styles of quilts.She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William of Decatur; 2 step-daughters: Charlotte (Steve) Crouch of Rockford, IL, and Barbara Gerber of St. Peters, MO; one son: Jeffrey Chambers, of Deerfield Beach, FL; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and dearest friend: Judy Birch.She was preceded in death by one step-son and one sister.
