Sharon K. Taylor, 84, of Forsyth, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
She was born on August 18, 1940 in Decatur, the daughter of the late John and Flossie (Allen) Groves. She married James “Jim” Taylor on December 6, 1956 in Decatur.
Sharon had worked at both Kmart and Kohls as a sales associate. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur and of the Caterpillar Retirees Club. She enjoys church, family, and friends. She loves to play board games and bingo and visiting Branson.
She is survived by her husband Jim Taylor of Forsyth; 2 daughters, Vicki (companion Paul) Taylor of Forsyth and Lori (husband Kevin) Langan of Williamsville, IL; 4 grandchildren, Joe (wife Danielle) Langan, Matt (wife Becky) Langan, Emily (husband Derek) Miller, and Krysta (companion Landon) Taylor; 5 great-grandchildren, Keegan, Easton, Alexa, Brylee, and Blake; and 1 sister Kathy Shepherd of Forsyth.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Jim Taylor, Jr., 1 brother, and 3 sisters.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Funeral Service will beheld on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025 at 10 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1 Bachrach Ct., Decatur, IL 62526. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025 from 5 pm till 7 pm at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, 2827 N. Oakland Ave., Decatur, IL 62526. Burial will follow the funeral service at Macon County Memorial Park in Harristown, IL.
