Decatur

Our beloved Sharon Fisher Still, age 75, passed away in her home on July 27, 2026 from complications from a stroke. Sharon was the heart of our home and family. She married her husband of 58 years, Gary Still Sr on August 23, 1968. Together they raised three children: Amy Still of NC, Gary Still Jr. of IL and Kathy (Paul)Small of IL. She is the grandmother of Andy Still (Trisha), Katelyn Wilkinson (Palise), Shelby Still, and Emily Still. She is the great grandmother “Memaw” of Mariah Miller and London Neal. She is also survived by the following siblings: Richard (Mariele) Fisher, Elizabeth (Jack) Piacenti, Jerry Fisher, Barb O’Neill, Bernice (Dave) Schuetz, and Tom (Lezlie) Fisher.
Sharon was born on March 10, 1951, in Princeton, IL to Ethel and Irwin Fisher. She was one of 13 children and has numerous nieces and nephews. Sharon retired from Akorn Pharmaceuticals as a line leader in 2017. She previously worked as a cafeteria cook in the Niantic-Harristown Schools for many years.
Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to keep her home and yard in immaculate condition and decorated for the holidays. She loved to feed her hummingbirds, squirrels and birds in her backyard. She also had beautiful flowers every year. Sharon loved to work on jigsaw puzzles and crafting. She was very caring and was a supporter of thrift stores, generously giving her items to be enjoyed by others. Sharon was a fabulous cook and baker and enjoyed providing meals and treats for her family, especially chocolate chip cookies. She was the center of our family, and she will truly be missed, especially by her husband Gary.
Sharon has joined her great-grandson Kaden Neal, her parents and six of her siblings in Heaven: Pearl Fisher, Susan Fisher, Dan Fisher, Carol Fisher Buckman, Anna Fisher Meyers, and Larry Fisher. She was also preceded in death by numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family members.
The family is grateful for the care provided to Sharon by the staff at the Emergency Room and 4100 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. The family also appreciates the care provided by Elara Hospice Care.
Sharon will be laid to rest with graveside services in the Macon County Memorial Park on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 10:00 am.
