Sharon Flannigan

Sharon Kay Flannigan passed away at Decatur Memorial Hospital on July 3, 2009.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery, Decatur.Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or to American Diabetes Association. Sharon was born on February 3, 1943 as Sharon Kay Dennison. She was raised by her grandmother Lenny Hart Shelton in Blue Mound and Lincoln, IL. She was married to Edgar Ray Flannigan. He preceded her in death in 2002.Sharon is survived by her daughter Kimberly Lynn England (Bill) and son Scott LaVern Turner (special friend Colleen Ceh); grandchildren Amber, Cameron and Bentley Turner, Jim (Debbie), Chris and Jessica England; great-grandchildren Braden and Jamison England; sister Cheryl Hathaway; brothers Herb (Judy) Dennison, Jim Dennison and Steve Young; and several nieces and nephews.Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, brother Richard, stepsons Robert and Donald Flanningan, father Herb Dennison, grandmother Lenny Hart Shelton, and special sister Donna Malloy.Sharon was full of life and color. She was loved by many friends and family. Sharon was a beautician for over 20 years and a clerk at Kroger grocery store.
