Seth Michael O’Neill, 24, of Dalton City, formerly of Oakley, passed away on December 14, 2024
Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 19, 2024 at First Christian Church, 3350 N MacArthur, Decatur, IL. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Friday, December 20, 2024 at the church. Burial will be in West Frantz Cemetery, Oakley. Memorials in Seth’s honor may be made to the American Heart Association.
Seth was born August 18, 2000 in Decatur, the son of Mike and Susan (Edgecombe) O’Neill. He graduated from Cerro Gordo High School in the class of 2019. Seth worked at Mt. Zion Auto Service for the last several years where he became close with the Rankins family. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time outdoors. He also was passionate about drift car racing. Seth liked hanging out with his buddies but loved time spent with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was a member of First Christian Church in Decatur.
Surviving are his parents, Mike and Susan O’Neill of Oakley; brothers: Adam (Andrea) Hamm of Cerro Gordo and Nathan (Brianna) Hamm of Argenta; nieces and nephews: Tatum McGinnis, Jarren Hamm, Brecken Hamm and Colt Hamm; grandmothers: Jo Ellen Edgecombe and Marilyn Primmer; aunts and uncles: Joan Helm, Russ (Carla) Edgecombe, Patrick (Kara) O’Neill, Jim (Ann) Helsdingen, Chris (Sarah) Primmer, Raymond (Kimberly) Primmer and Mary O’Neill.
Seth was preceded in death by his 2 grandfathers: Gary Edgecombe and Jim O’Neill; and his beloved uncle, Richard Helm.
