Seth Roland Gault, was born March 18, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri to George EdwinGault and Rissie Irena Duncan. He is survived by his wife, Margarette Ann Gault; children Charles J Gault of Hamilton, New Jersey; Laura K Sumner of Galt, California; Kenneth R Gault of Ponte Vedra, Florida and Tracy L Gault of Talent, Oregon; sister Marca Mae Andersen of St. Louis, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. His father and mother predeceased him. Juanita L (Jan) Vance was the mother of his children. He later married Margarette Ann Repass, who survives. Seth graduated from Beaumont High School in St. Louis, Missouri and attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Later he attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana earning a Masters of Business Administration degree. His employment history was as varied as his education and interests. First was Westinghouse Electric in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Bloomington, Indiana followed by Ingersol Rand Company in New York City and Painted Post, New York. He then accepted a job offer from Lindsay-Schaub Newspapers in Decatur, Illinois, a position much enjoyed for its variety and challenges. With the sale of the Lindsay-Schaub Group to Lee Enterprises, Seth briefly worked for Archer Daniels Midland in Decatur, Illinois but soon accepted a call to work for Wright Publications in Boody, Illinois. They had recently purchased Full Cry Magazine, a monthly publication for enthusiasts of hunting with Trail and Tree Hounds. This allowed him to not only return to the graphic arts field but had the added attraction of involvement in a very old dog sport. Seth later purchased the interests in Full Cry from Wright Publications and formed his own company, Gault Publications. This added the independence of operating one’s own business to the mix, making for a very contented several years, until retirement called and the magazine was sold. In retirement Seth's interest in variety continued with volunteer work with the Juvae Jazz Society, Trustee with the Blue Mound Memorial Library, the Decatur Genealogical Society, Heartland Coon Hunters Club, and a few others. Seth died Tuesday, August 20, 2019. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation from Noon until service time. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, Blue Mound, IL. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice. "
