Scott A. Runyon, 65, of Decatur, passed away June 4, 2025.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 14th at Tabernacle Baptist Church at 650 N Wyckles Rd, Decatur, IL 62522. Visitation hours will be from 9:00a to 10:00a. A service in honor of Scott will follow from 10:00a – 11:00a. If you wish to send flowers in honor of Scott, please send directly to Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Scott was born March 7, 1960 in Decatur, the son of Robert and Carol (Perry) Runyon. He married Kelly Coss, they just celebrated 41 years of marriage in May. Scott worked as a computer engineer for Peoria School District and Central A&M Schools for over 20 years.
Scott was an avid fisherman and loved watching sports. His ideal day was to take the family fishing on Lake Shelbyville and finish the evening off with grilling and a baseball game. He was a huge St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, Chicago Bears, and University of Illinois sports fan. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. Scott was a loving husband and cherished being a father and grandfather. Scott was always present for his family, making sure to never miss any sporting event or milestone for his children & grandchildren, even though he spent the majority of his career working out of town. He was always willing to help anyone in need, especially with his passion for computer technical assistance. His love, support, advice and presence will be severely missed.
Surviving are his wife, Kelly; sons: Mathew (Brittany) & Jeffrey (Carrie); daughter: Nichole; siblings: Heath & Darcy; grandchildren: Ron (Allyson), Dacari, Ty (Lizzy), Derich & Bella; great grandchildren: Kysen, My’Lani, Nalani & Grabriella
