Ruth E. Thompson, 94, of Decatur, IL., passed away at 7:10 A.M. on Saturday (05-26-2012) at Fair Havens Christian Home. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday (05-29-2012) at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to: First Christian Church, Moweaqua, IL. Ruth was born on November 2, 1917 in Decatur, IL., the daughter of John E. Miller and Nora Riley Miller. She married James R. Thompson on October 17, 1941 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death. Ruth was a former member of Prairie Avenue Christian Church in Decatur, IL., First Christian Church in McAllen, TX., and was a current member of First Christian Church, Moweaqua, IL. She was a secretary for the Circuit Clerks Office in Decatur, IL. She is survived by her son: James A. Thompson and wife Audrey of Champaign, IL. and daughter: JoAnn Blackwell of Moweaqua, IL.; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Dorothy Miller. "
