Ruth Summerlott

Ruth Ann Summerlott, 77, of Decatur, IL, passed away 3:30 a.m., Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Fair Havens Christian Home, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2014, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Ruth Ann was born March 27, 1937 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Bernard Paul and Harriet Gaynelle (Dow) Rokosh. She married Other H. Summerlott on October 9, 1954 in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death on November 30, 2006. Ruth Ann was a member of Northwest Christian Church. She was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School, attended Richland Community College, and was a member of the Decatur Quilt Guild. Ruth Ann worked for Hi-Flier Kite Company, Decatur Public School District as a cook, Taylor Pharmaceutical, and most recently for Walmart as a greeter. Ruth Ann was a life long Christian and loved her husband, children, and family very much. She is survived by her children Marc H. Summerlott and wife Debra J. of Decatur, IL, Ann Marie Disney and husband Jim of Decatur, IL, Carole Ruth King and husband Thomas of Glen Carbon, IL; grandchildren Sara Summerlott, Max Summerlott, Eric O. Summerlott and wife Whitney, Jacob H. Summerlott, Adam Disney and wife Valerie Cintron; 4 great grandchildren; sister Dorothy (Rich) Johnson of Malakoff, TX; brother Danny Rokosh and wife Cheryl of Elizabethtown, IL; sister Mary Schilling of Maplewood, MN; sister-in-law Helen Jones of Arthur, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother David Rokosh. The family would like to thank the staff at Fair Havens Christian Home for all their loving compassion and care shown to Ruth Ann. "
