Ruth Grossman

Ruth H. Grossman, 92, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013, surrounded by her family and loving friend, Jody Kramer. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 9, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation from 10-11. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church. Mrs. Grossman was born July 13, 1920, in Decatur, the daughter of Charles and Augusta (Gendry) Hill. She married Anthony Grossman October 16, 1954, in Decatur at St. James Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in November 1992. Mrs. Grossman worked for Illinois Power for 40+ years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a volunteer at Decatur Memorial Hospital for several years. She is survived by her step children: Colleen Dobbs of Phoenix, AZ, Robert Eugene Grossman and wife Colleen of Hermitage, PA, and Donald Grossman of Decatur; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 16 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 9 brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank the staff at DMH 4100 for their tender loving care. "
