Ruth Baker

Ruth G. Baker, 89, of Decatur, IL, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 26, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church. Ruth was born July 31, 1925, in Mt. Auburn, IL, the daughter of L. Dale and Maude (Newberry) Davis. She married Frank R. Baker on July 14, 1946, in Tower Hill, IL. He preceded her in death in March 2002. Ruth was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was a meat cutter most of her life, working at Cloyds Food Center and Vilmure's Market. Surviving are her children: Gary F. (Glennis) Baker of Hammond, IN, Dale P. (Kathy) Baker of Decatur, IL, and Rev. Glenn R. (Susan) Baker of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Cory F. (Aimee) Baker, Lyndale (Eric) Bryant, Sarah (Scott) Tondello; great-grandchildren: Tyler Frank Baker, Garrett Baker, Devin Baker, Braxton Bryant, Brock Bryant, and Brigham Bryant; sister: Floann (E. Rudy) Dowell of Pana, IL; sister-in-law: Betty L. Woods of Champaign, IL.; sister-in-law Lorna Davis of Tower Hill, IL. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, grandson Dale Perl Baker II, brothers Cecil E. Davis and Herschel G. Davis and sister Daletta Wallace. "
