Ruth Armstrong

Ruth L. Armstrong, 94, of Moweaqua, IL, formerly of Blue Mound, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Moweaqua Nursing and Retirement Center.Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur.The family requests, in lieu of memorial, acts of kindness in Ruth’s memory.Ruth was born August 2, 1921, in Dallas City, IL, the daughter of Andrew Benjamin and Freda D. (Meyer) Kettelkamp. She married John L. Armstrong on December 25, 1942.Ruth was a life time member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Blue Mound, IL.Surviving are her son: John G. Armstrong and wife Angela of Decatur, IL; six grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; brother: John Kettelkamp of Tucson, AZ; many nieces and nephews; son-in-law Michael Sperry.Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, daughter Janice Sperry, sister Ester and brothers Raymond, Robert and James.
