Russell Nicholson

Russell Thomas Nicholson, 73, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Russell was born November 24, 1942 in Decatur to Robert and Lois Nicholson. He served at Ft. Benning Georgia and Greenland as a member of the U.S. ARMY from February 24, 1961 to February 20, 1964 and was employed as a sheet metal worker for 44 years before retiring where he then enjoyed remodeling his house, collecting clocks and driving his Camaro SS. He spent his final days enjoying time with family and friends.Russell is survived by his two sons, Steven Russell Nicholson and his wife Glory, Jay Dylan Lindsay and his wife Christine; five grandchildren, Ella and Andrew Nicholson, Alysa, Jacob and Austin Lindsay; several nephews and nieces and his brother Alvin C Nicholson of Decatur.A special thank you to the many people at Hickory Point Christian Village and Decatur Memorial Hospital for their care and support.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday (January 2, 2016) at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Homes, 2827 N. Oakland Ave, Decatur, IL. with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Russell will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery, 2091 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL "
